To keep the Molí Vell de la Mola, Formentera, Asset of Cultural Interest, in optimal condition, maintenance and repair work is again necessary on some parts of the mill that, due to inclement weather, have been affected and detract from and endanger the preservation of the monument.
In 2014, the reeds of the hood of the mill were replaced as this plant cover had been deteriorating and coming off, so the metal dome had become visible, which at the time was place to waterproof the interior. For this reason, the old reeds were removed and a new layer of reed mats was installed that hides the metal part and thus the original external appearance was recovered.
On this occasion it is necessary to replace the entire hood.
